Environmental Education and Conservation Programs

TAYEN in collaboration with government and NGOs in and outside Tanzania provides environmental literacy and engage youth in conservation programs to ensure environmental sustainability for current and future generation. more

Climate Change Education and Mitigation Programs

We address climate change problem in Tanzania through education and awareness creation including climate change campaigns, film shows, youth climate debates, essay writing competition in schools and community tree planting events. More

Tree planting Programs

Deforestation is a major environmental problem in Tanzania; TAYEN tackles deforestation by directly involving young people in our tree planting programs by training youth to establish community tree nurseries, raise and plant trees across the country. More

Waste Management Programs

TAYEN addresses solid waste management problem in Tanzania through education on proper waste management, youth clean up campaigns, garbage collection and recycling projects. More

Promoting Domestic Tourism

In country blessed and endowed with vast tourist attractions, TAYEN provides education and promotes neglected tourist attractions in Tanzania to youth and locals to boost Tanzania domestic tourism. More

RECOGNIZING that most environmental problems in Tanzania stem from lack of education, particularly among young people, TAYEN was founded in 2006 at the University of Dar es Salaam

OUR VISION: To have youth in Tanzania with positive attitude towards environmental conservation, so that the world we are living in can be a better place for both present and future generation.

OUR MISSION: To establish a network that will promote Children and Youth participation in environmental conservation initiatives based on actions for environmental conservation and natural resource management for sustainable development.

Our Programs

Environmental Education and Conservation Programs

Lack of environmental education programs for children and youth is a critical problem in Tanzania and across Africa. Due to this young generation fail to manage and conserve natural resources for a better future which also threatens the sustainability of conservation efforts carried out by the government, NGOs and development partners

Climate Change Education and Mitigation Programs

We impart climate change knowledge and raise awareness about climate change problem to youth in Tanzania through youth climate change debates, youth discussions and essay writing competitions in our Youth Environmental Clubs in schools and communities

Tree Planting Program

According to Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in Tanzania the annual forest reduction in the country is estimated between 130,000ha to 500,000ha against only 25,000ha trees planted annually.
