ABOUT TAYEN
Tanzania Youth Environmental Network (TAYEN) is a registered non-governmental organization founded in 2006 at University of Dar es Salaam. TAYEN is non-profit youth led organization that brings together children and youth to participate in environmental conservation activities in Tanzania.
TAYEN conducts environmental education programs in primary, secondary schools as well as in colleges and Universities in Tanzania. We are interested in raising awareness to Children and Youth on environmental problems facing our country and the globe. Our aim is to get as many children and youths in primary, secondary schools and in higher learning institutions participate actively in environmental conservation initiatives.
TAYEN was registered on 25th August, 2008 under Tanzania Non-Governmental Organization Act of 2002 with Registration No: OONGO/02396.

To have youth in Tanzania with positive attitude towards environmental conservation, so that the world we are living in can be a better place for both present and future generations.
OUR MISSION
To establish a network that will promote Children and Youth participation in environmental conservation initiatives based on actions for environmental conservation and natural resource management for sustainable development.
TAYEN OBJECTIVES
TAYEN'S APPROACH
In order to achieve above objectives TAYEN establishes Youth Environmental Clubs in primary, secondary and higher learning institutions in Tanzania. Through established Youth Environmental Clubs, TAYEN conducts Environmental Education Programs through trainings, workshops, seminars, campaigns in and outside school for youth to learn and increase knowledge on environmental problems affecting Tanzania and the rest of the world. Through TAYEN programs young people learn and take action in tackling environmental problems affecting our planet today.
